Jennie Jo’s Family Heirloom Quilt
Hi there,
it’s me again! I’m going to try and catch up on sharing quilts…so then I can share quilts in real time. It can be hard to find the time to blog, especially when I used to do multiple quilts in one post.
This fun heirloom quilt is all about the fabric!! One of Jennie Jo’s sons loved this drapery fabric from his grandma, so she had a quilt made out of it. A friend of Jennie’s zig zagged the round edges to the green fabric, and then also added the brown border.
You may be also to see how it’s sewn better in this picture.
I suggested a few different designs, and she chose Patricia Ritter and my Haven©️ design! It’s such a fun vine design. It’s available at Urban Elementz.
I think it looks beautiful with the print in the fabric, without being too matchy matchy.
I used a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend Winline batting.
Have you ever made a quilt with a family heirloom fabric?
Have a great week, and I hope that you get some sewing in!

Sweet Marmalade!
Introducing Sweet Marmalade©️ by Patricia Ritter and me!! This was the exciting thing that I mentioned a few blog posts ago. If you love our Marmalade design, you’ll love Sweet Marmalade.
I had a quilting friend request some hearts, and I’m so glad. I couldn’t love it more!! Sweet Marmalade is available at Urban Elementz. I haven’t quilted it out just yet, but I did see it on a quilt that someone else quilted the other day. It’s super cute!! I can’t wait to quilt it out…now I just need the right quilt.
Below is the first quilt that I quilted with my Statler after I got my Gammill machine retrofitted, and it’s one of my own. So, of course I wanted to do Marmalade…I still love it 4 years later!
The quilt pattern is Windspinner by April Rosenthal.
Also…did you know we had a variation of Marmalade with a star…yep, we’ve had it since 2016…it’s called Liberty©️. I just looked, and it’s also available in embroidery quilting and design boards, as well as the regular edge to edge options.
Look at the glorious minky blue backing…Liberty certainly knows how to shine!
Also, a little star topper just needed some Liberty©️ quilting on it!
I hope that you’re just as excited about Sweet Marmalade as we are!!! It’s awesome how much joy a quilting design can bring to the quilting world, aka…Marmalade! We are hoping that Sweet Marmalade is loved by you just as much! Now, I need to quilt it on a quilt ASAP. If you have a quilt in need of some Sweet Marmalade, let me know. Happy Monday, friends.

Mary Ann’s Aggie Quilt
Good morning!!
I hope you have a great week ahead of you. Today is going to be a quick little post.
Mary Ann made this fun t-shirt quilt for her daughter and son in-law for Christmas!! Yes…I’m way behind in sharing quilts. I did want to share the quilting on this quilt.
I made a t-shirt quilt awhile back and did a blog post…and then recently made another and did a Instagram tutorial, which I saved on my highlight bubbles “t-shirt quilt 1” and “t-shirt quilt 2”…if you want to go look at the play by play. https://instagram.com/leishakaye/ There was lots of interested.
Mary Ann did a beautiful job making this quilt!! She used the apparel interfacing by Pellon Basics 931TD fusible midweight, to back the shirts and stabilize them.
I used my favorite 8020 Winline cotton poly blend batting and Superior Thread’s Omni white thread.
This design is versatile!! It’s my go to design for t-shirt quilts, guy quilts, quilts that need geometric quilting, baby quilts and so on…
Love this quilting texture! And, Go Aggie’s!! They lost their last basketball game in their conference tournament, yet found out they were invited to play in the NCAA tournament! Excited for them!!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy quilting.
Design of the Week
This week’s design of the week is…Double Squared©️!!! It is 20% off, no code necessary. This design does not require any offset, and stitches out beautifully. I recommend quilting it out at a 5”-5.5” height, which is the largest I would go. It would be great to quilt it smaller, too.
I decided to bring back the design of the week, but with a little twist. When I quilt a design of mine, it will be the design of the week. I will be able to share pictures of what it looks like quilted out on a quilt.
If you follow me over on Instagram, then you probably saw me making this T-shirt quilt for a client…In my stories. I decided to quilt Double Squared on it. More pictures to come…
This is a quilt I quilted awhile back for my client Kristen…here is the blog post with info about her quilt.
The weekly design’s will expire on Saturday night each week. They will be chosen from my personal designs, and only on sale in my shop. Check back soon for another one! Thank you!!

Kathy’s Legendary Quilt
Hello,
I hope you’re week has been great! Happy almost spring to some of you…and fall the the rest.
This fun quilt my friend Kathy made for her son. He wanted different texture on the quilting than what I typically do…wood grain. So…I showed her Malachite by Patricia Ritter, and she loved the idea. I think it turned out great!
The quilt pattern is by Elizabeth Hartman and is called Legendary.
I know some of you are here to see quilts that are custom quilted, I understand that. However, there is definitely a place for edge to edge quilting. With a quilt like this one, that I’ve quilted a few of…and seen many others, it’s great to get a look at a different design on such a popular quilt. Also, I want to share my clients beautiful quilts.
I used my favorite Winline 8020 batting, and superior threads cream Omni thread.
Look at that cozy backing!! It’s a flannel sheet. When someone wants to use a sheet or a flannel backing, I suggest using a flannel sheet. They quilt up beautifully. I think Kathy found this at Eddie Bauer.
I quilted this last fall…and I have oodles of more quilts to share with you! Stay tuned. Happy Quilting! -Leisha
Kim’s Life’s a Picnic Runner
Hello!!
I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m going to try and post more quilts this week, there are some fun ones that have come my way for quilting.
This fun little table runner was made by Kim, I love the bright pops of color!! The pattern is by Lissa Alexander and it’s a bonus pattern called Life’s a Picnic from her “Oh, Scrap!” book.
I used a scrap piece of 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I thought it would be fun to quilt freehand swirls in the center of the blocks, and it turned out so sweet!! Also, ribbon candy in the outer border.
In the background I thought a simple orange peel petals would frame nicely around the swirl blocks. Which I was able to do continuously by stitching in the ditch.
I used my 4” Circle2™ machine quilting circle ruler to quilt the petals. My 4” Circle2™ ruler is one of my most used circle rulers for quilting orange peel petals. It fits a variety of different shapes nicely. If it’s not quite the right size, I size up or down…that’s why I offer my Circle2™ rulers in a set. For more info my rulers, check out this blog post: https://www.quiltingit.com/blog/2018/10/10/introducing-my-circle2-longarm-circle-ruler-set

I love looking at the backings…this one is fun!!
Hope you have a great day!!! Happy sewing! - Leisha
Kim’s Spring Table Runner
Does anyone else feel like spring is coming??? Hopefully this sweet little wall hanging helps!! The pattern is by Pieceful Designs and it’s called Love to Garden, part of their “The Long and Short of it” group.
Sweet huh?!?!
I used a 8020 cotton poly batting scrap from another quilt, and some cream Omni thread color number 3004.
What better freehand design for this garden wall hanging than my grassy design???…I love it!! It reminds me of tall grass blowing in a breeze. It’s actually funny to me to describe freehand quilting designs to someone, I guess it just better to show you. What would you name it? Would you be interested in a video of how I freehand quilt this grassy design?
To enhance the 1/2” pink dotted border, I thought some freehand circles would be fun. Like a string of pearls. To finish off the outer border, a little ribbon candy. I kept the quilting in the flowers simple, and then had fun adding some details to the watering can. I think quilting appliqué can be fun…unless there is too many layers of heavy weight interfacing. Light weight interfacing is preferred and can adequately fuse all your layers together. I really love Flexi Fuse!! I love quilting appliquéd quilts that use it for the interfacing. It’s easy to quilt through all the many layers!
Thanks for coming on by, I hope that life is going well for you!! Take care. • Leisha
Kim’s Mini Quilt
Hello,
I hope you’re safe and doing well!! The weather is certainly crazy right now, take care and know that the rest of us are thinking of and praying for you.
This lovely mini quilt was made by Kim. The pattern is called Sunshine on a Cloudy Day, by Lindsey Weight from Primrose Cottage.
When I custom quilt quilts like this, I was to create a variety of different textures that complement on another. There are lots of curves, yet in the gray fabrics I used an edge ruler, from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple , to quilt some straight lines which frame the star block very nicely. It is actually easy to quilt this exact design continuously all the way around the block. Staring at the middle left point of the block, I quilted the straight line from point to point, then came down the right side of the diamond shape lining up the edge of the ruler on the point of the block. Then back up the left side, doing the same thing. Then off to the next block. If I can custom quilt continuously, I do! The nice thing about starting where I did, the left center point, when I’m done with all the lines, then I can use three of my Circle2™ machine quilting circle rulers to quilt the curves in the star block. All continuously.
I used the 3”, 4”, and 6” Circle2™ rulers to quilt these orange peel petals, as well as the arc in the very center. It does take some practice to get used to using a few rulers at the same time. I keep all the rulers next to me resting on the quilt top. I use one at a time, stopping for a second between swapping out a ruler for another one. If it’s hard for you, or your machine continues to quilt when you slow down, you can always stop the machine or quilt as much as you can with one ruler. In order for it to be continuous however, I can’t completely quilt the four petals in the yellow that form a square, and still be able to quilt the center as well as the orange peels in the white. I have to swap out rulers and quilt the orange peels when I get to the point where it connects to the other designs. I do that whenever I custom quilt, no matter the design. When you plan out a block to custom quilt, try and make it continuous. Not only does it save a lot of time and thread, I think it also shows that the design interlocks, which can be pleasing to the eye.
I love all these curves and textures together. I used a natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads, and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
I used my 9” Circle2™ ruler to quilt the arc curves and the 4” to quilt the petals in the center. I love how these arcs frame the whole quilt so nicely!! They aren’t too hard to quilt either. I do have an old video on my YouTube channel using different rulers to create an arc design in a square, and it also has the center petals. It’s a big square space, so I went slower to make sure that the curves all met up correctly. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/5MPIzU-fiE4
Here is my clear 3”/9” Circle2™ ruler (pictured above). This is another reason this set is so awesome…I have both circles in one ruler!! My Circle2™ sets come with 6 different rulers, ranging in size from 2”-13”. The ruler combinations are 2”/8”, 3”/9”, 4”/10”, 5”/11”, 6”/12”, 7”/13”. It’s great to have that many options in 6 rulers, verses having 12 different rulers. Plus, the design is so handy to hold and use.

One more look at all those curves and lines!!! Love this so much!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! Happy sewing/quilting!! •Leisha
Kim’s Winter Nights Quilt
Hello!!
Did you get snowed on, too!! I live in Northern Utah, so snow is just part of life during the winter months. I’ve seen a lot of people who don’t typically get snow, got a ton. I hope you’re safe and you have power.
This lovely quilt was made by Kim!! Pictures just don’t do this one justice. The pattern is by Sherry Falls from This & That Pattern Company. It’s from her Winter Wonderland book and is called Winter Nights.
I love all the beautiful navy fabrics that Kim used, especially with the touch of light blue sashing.
I used a cream Omni thread, and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
We decided on Patricia Ritter and my Frost quilting design!!
It is such a fun quilty texture. It’s the perfect pairing to the star blocks and navy fabrics.
This is a perfect time to talk about thread!! I personally prefer lighter threads on darker fabrics, than darker threads on lighter fabrics. As you can see the cream that I used blends beautifully on the navy fabrics. I truly think it enhances most quilts to choose a neutral color of thread.
Omni thread is my go to thread now!! If you’re a machine quilter, you can buy a thread card that shows to the many Omni colors that Superior Threads offers.
Cream threads on dark backings aren’t always my favorite, but I do love looking at the beautiful dancing “Frost” across the back.
One more, you know, for good measure.
Thanks for being here!! I have an exciting announcement coming soon!! I’ll share here and on my Instagram and Facebook page. Until then, stay safe and warm!!

Sherry’s Starry Night Quilt
This amazing quilt was made by Sherry!! The pattern is called Starry Night by Sew Kind of Wonderful.
Pictures just don’t do this quilt justice. Because it was hard to fit the full quilt in a picture, I captured parts of each section, also hoping that you’ll be able to see the details a little better.
Here is Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.
The three wiseman.
A camel and a shepherd.
Sherry want it quilted similar to how Jenny Pedigo quilted their Starry Night quilt. I quilted my overlapping circles freehand, in the background. Then I used the Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. The lines varied throughout the quilt, from horizontal to vertical to curved, which added to the textures.
Donkey and another shepherd.
I used a light cream thread and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
I also added some fun little details here and there, as shown here on the angel.
I also used one of my Circle2 machine quilting circle rulers to enhance some of the curves by quilting a quarter of an inch and then adding the rest of the lines. If you look back at all the individual pictures, you can see where I’ve done that.
One last look at the quilt!!
I think I used the 6” or 7” Circle2 ruler for the curves. My Circle2 rulers come in a set of 6 on my website. They range in size from 2”-13”. They come in clear as pictured above, and green as pictured below. Made in America from 1/4” high quality acrylic.
Hope you loved this quilt, too!!! Have a great day! - Leisha
Barbara’s Mystery Quilt
Hello,
I hope that you have had a great week!! It’s been a snowy day here. If you like where it snows, do you spend time sewing? Snow day = sew day? I didn’t sew…I was hoping to get started on another amazing client quilt. I will tomorrow! Hope you were able to sew.
This amazing quilt was made by Barbara!! It is a Mystery Quilt from Under the Garden Moon by Amy McClellan. Village Dry Goods in Brigham City Utah put together. It looks like they may have gathered blocks from several of Amy’s patterns to put this together. If you’re interested in more information, I linked the website above for Village Dry Goods. Their number is listed at the top of their website.
I love the mix of applique with the sewn blocks!!
We decided on my Sweet Orange Peel design for the quilting, and I love how it turned out. Sweet and traditional on this lovely quilt! Sweet Orange Peel is available in my shop. I believe I quilted this one around a 3” height. It is recommended anywhere from 3“-4”.
I used my favorite Winline 8020 batting and a light cream thread.
There are designs that are so versatile, and this is one of them. I have seen it on so many different kinds of quilts!! It can look traditional like it does here, or modern on a more modern quilt pattern. I love it when I create something that has such great quilty texture!!!
This was a quick one, thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!!

Barbara’s Mini Quilt
Hello!!
I hope you’re each doing well!! I have oodles of quilts to share, but instead of sharing them all in the same post, I’ll share them separately. I asked about that in my last post…one quilt vs. multiple quilts in a post, and the response was the same…one per post. Thanks to those of you who chimed in.
This beautiful mini quilt was made by Barbara!! She has so many fun different quilts that she brings for me to quilt…like this one, and I have a few more of hers to share.
The pattern is called Smack Dab in the Middle by Kim Diehl, from the Whatnots Club.
I wanted to show off and enhance the center part, so I thought the arcs and feathers would be a nice touch!! I love how it turned out!! I used my Circle2™ machine quilting circle rulers to quilt the curves and orange peel petals along the borders and in the center. I think I used the 4” Circle2™ ruler for the petals and my 12” Circle2™ ruler for the curves.
I used Linda from The Quilted Pineapple’s 8” Edge ruler along the borders.
I used a cream Omni thread on the entire quilt, from Superior Threads. It blends beautifully, even on the darker fabrics. Barbara brought a scrap of 8020 batting.
A close up of the center!!
Here is a look at the green set and the clear set stacked up! For more details on my Circle2™ ruler set, go here: https://www.quiltingit.com/blog/2018/10/10/introducing-my-circle2-longarm-circle-ruler-set
I hope you have a wonderful day!! Check your email for another post soon. Thank you!!

Stephanie’s Pirate Tales Quilt
Hi there,
I’m excited to share with you this amazing quilt that Stephanie made!! I think she told me it is paper pieced.
The quilt is called Pirate Tales the pattern designer is…(I’m not sure, I will edit this when I know).
The fabric is by Echo Park Paper Company from Riley Blake, and is called Pirate Tales.
Stephanie left the custom quilting up to me, she suggested something geometric. I decided on designs that would enhance the quilt pattern. I love it!!
Pictures don’t do it justice!!
I love how the quilting in all the borders frames the block so nicely.
I decided to do my favorite random angled lined design at 1/4”, using the Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. I actually used them for all the lines I quilted throughout the quilt.
In the star itself I quilted a variety of different lines that enhance the shape. I used a light cream thread on everything but the black fabrics, which I used black thread on. I also used Hobbs wool batting.
Below you can see what I just did in each of the borders. Ribbon candy, circles with a swirl in every other one, pinstripes in the black thin border, and the 4 point star in the nine patch. I love what the four corners look like together. You can see another bigger star.
Another look at the borders.
With more ribbon candy on the outer border. I love all the textures together. Quilting adds so much personality to a quilt.
It’s so rewarding to see a quilt come together and see the end result, especially when I do this much ruler work.
Hope you enjoyed Stephanie’s quilt. Lots of more fun quilts to share!! Hope you’re working on some fun projects.

Kristan’s Evandale Quilt
Hello! I hope that your year is off to a good start. I have sooo many quilts to share with you, but I have a question. Would you prefer blog posts with just one quilt or a bunch of different quilts? I know it can get time consuming to read a long post and look at a bunch of pictures. But, I also don’t want to flood your inbox with lots of emails. Please comment below, which you’d prefer. For now I may try doing one quilt a post, or if I quilted multiple quilts for one of my clients, the. I’ll do all of hers in one post.
This incredible quilt was made by Kristan!! It’s by Leonie Bateman and it’s her Evandale quilt pattern. I try and link patterns or other things that I use to quilt in these blog posts. If you word “Evandale” above, that is underlined, it will take you to the pattern.
Also, a little tip! When you can, buy directly from the pattern designer. Same goes for quilting designs. The product is the exact same. You’re helping the designer earn more for the work that they’ve done. When companies sell our patterns or designs they take a portion of the sale. I’m grateful for those who sell my designs on their website’s and the company that I co-design with, don’t get me wrong. I appreciate all the support that I’ve gotten over the years with my designs!!! Thank you so much!
This quilt is truly incredible!!
In the tan background throughout the quilt I quilted a freehand people design. I actually have this same design digitized and available at Urban Elementz. It’s called Soda Pop and is by Patricia Ritter and myself. I also quilted some feathers and other details in the appliqué.
Here is a close up of the borders that are around the center block. Some ribbon candy, tiny circles in the thinnest border, some crosshatch pinstripes in the diamonds and some back and forth lines behind the diamonds to make them pop more.
Here is a close up on the flying geese. Initially I quilted a orange peel with the additional arc inside the flying geese, but then decided to add the same swirl hook design that I did on the blocks in the biggest border. Which is fun to do!! I love to put the same design in more than one place on a custom quilted quilt. It ties the overall design together better. I used one of my Circle2™ machine quilting circle rulers to quilt the orange peel and arc. I should have written it down. I think I used the 6” or 7” circle. I can’t remember. The reason I only sell the set is because each quilt is different. For one quilt you’ll need a 3” or 4”, for another quilt you made need the 9”. The circles range in size from 2”-13”.
Here is a look at the biggest Circle2™ ruler the 7”/13”. This is from the clear set, they are also available in green. - Design Patent D875,574 -
I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline, and a golden tan thread for the entire quilt.
Here are a couple of the blocks that are in the biggest border. You’ll see in the center star that same swirly hook design. I actually posted a video on my Instagram back when I quilted it, on how to quilt it. Click here to be taken to it: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CGdoL4bn8sk/?igshid=17j2p2r1xy0qn
I used my favorite 8” Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple to quilt all the lines on this quilt.
One last look at the full quilt!!
Here is a look at the green set of my Circle2™ rulers, all stacked up.
These are made in the USA from high quality 1/4” acrylic. For more info on them go to this blog post. https://www.quiltingit.com/blog/2018/10/10/introducing-my-circle2-longarm-circle-ruler-set

Laser Cut Quilts - Composed quilt
Hello!!
I hope things are going well for each one of you! I am excited to finally share this stunning butterfly quilt that I quilted for Laser Cut Quilts, back in August. Isn’t it absolutely beautiful?!?!!! Designed by Madi Hastings using Hoffman Indah Batik solids, it’s called Composed. It will be available in March of 2021. They are accepting pre orders on their website for kits, and the preorders are on sale.
It’s offered as pattern with pre-printed fusible. Which is available now!!
Laser Cut Quilts is offering you 20% off by using my code LEISHA20 on their Flexi Fuse website, go to: https://flexifuse.com/discount/LEISHA20?redirect=%2Fproducts%2Fcomposed-kits-packages
If you’ve been around here for awhile, then you know how much I LOVE Laser Cut Quilts “Flexi Fuse” interfacing!!! It is an absolute breeze to quilt through. Their laser cut kits are backed with their Flexi Fuse, however they also offer Flexi Fuse in sheets or on a roll. I encourage you to try it!! You won’t want to use another interfacing again. It is so light weight my machine has no issues quilting through multiple layers, plus it doesn’t make your quilt hard and crunchy.
Onto the quilting…can you tell I had fun with this one?!?!!!! I used a cream thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
I wanted the quilting to enhance the overall butterfly details without taking away from it. I also wanted it to look organic and not symmetrical. With the pebbles, feathers, and cross hatching I think it turned out pretty awesome!
I used my favorite 8” Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple to quilt the cross hatch and the horizontal lines in the body of the butterfly. I also only quilted a few different parts of the appliqué. The background is quilted tight enough it helps the appliqué pop. Personally, I also think it’s unnecessary to quilt everything. Over quilting appliqué can tend to take away from the beauty of the appliqué.
This will be such a fun new project to start in the spring of 2021!!
Photo courtesy of Laser Cut Quilts via their Flexi Fuse website.
I love the pop of blue on the binding. Thanks for stopping by. I have some fun quilts that I’ve been quilting lately. I’ll share them in another post in December or January. I hope you each can have a joyful holiday season.
Happy quilting, Leisha
Fall 2020 Client Quilts
Hello!!
Happy fall or spring, depending on where you live. Our fall has been colorful and warm…compared to other years. It’s typically freezing by now. I hope you’re enjoying whatever season you’re in!
I have oodles of quilts to share with you. Some are computerized quilting and some are custom quilted by me. There is definitely a place for both of them!!
First up…this sweet pumpkin quilt made by Sherry. Pattern is called Mini Pumpkin’s by Sew Kind of Wonderful.
I used a white Omni thread to quilt it and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
We decided on my Sweet Orange Peel©️ quilting design for the quilting!! I love it! It’s only available in my shop and in the Gammill Pattern Cloud. I recommend quilting this no bigger that 4”, if I remember right…I quilted this one at 3”ish.
I love how the quilting fits the modern look of this quilt!!
Love this quilt!!
Next, this fun Halloween runner made by Sherry. It was a kit and pattern by My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shoppe called Halloween Around the Block.
Runners like this give me the opportunity to add lots of fun textures in all the different blocks. It’s a great way to have something custom quilted.
The spider block is definitely my favorite, with the overlapping circles and interwoven background. Go to my YouTube channel for videos on how to quilt both of these designs.
I’m loving the texture in the bow tie border blocks. It’s an imperfect arched swirl. Also that candy corn was so fun to quilt!!
I used white thread and Sherry had a batting scrap leftover from another quilt.
This stunning quilt was made by Orange Peel Sews for her mom. The pattern is called Wonky Stars. There are several different designers for this particular pattern…do a google search and find one that suits you.
Abby loves straight lines…can you blame her? This is just so perfect for this quilt and it’s modern style. I quilted the lines 3/4” apart.
A close up!!
I used white Omni thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
That backing and quilty texture is fabulous!
Next up, these fun whale quilts made by Kathy. She made two for a couple of her grandsons. Pattern is by Elizabeth Hartman and is called Preppy Pod.
I used a royal blue color of thread and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline.
Kathy brought minky for the backings, which adds some nice cuddle to it.
I used the Ocean Waves design by Kim Diamond. Which turned out so fun with the whales.
Next, Kim’s two little granddaughters each made a beach themed quilt. They did a pretty great job!! I don’t know the pattern name, sorry!!
I freehand quilted each row, except for the petals in the squares. For the petals I used my 3” Circle2 machine quilting circle ruler, which is available in my shop.
I used a white thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Next up, this incredible quilt made by Susan. It’s called Stonefields by Susan Smith.
Susan wanted custom and the added puff of two layers of batting. I used Winline’s 8020 on the base and Hobbs wool on top. I also used a light cream Omni thread.
I highlighted each 6” block with individual details, which shows off each block.
For all the straight lines that I custom quilt, I use Linda from The Quilted Pineapple’s Edge rulers.
Next, this fun quilt made by Lisa for her 2 year old son. The pattern is by Kristin Rauch from Woolley Petals and is called Floored Quilt.
We decided on this fun Outer Space design by Sarah Ann Myers. It’s available at Urban Elementz.
I used a cream Omni thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Close ups…
This incredible quilt was made by my sister for her husband. It’s called Interwoven by Lo & Behold Stitchery.
My sister and I started this together, and she diligently kept working on it!! I’m impressed with her pinning skills, she did great at lining up all of those seams.
My brother in-law chose Diagonal Plaid for the quilting, which is by Patricia Ritter and is available at Urban Elementz.
I think I used a cream A&E Perma Core thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting. Then I finished off the binding for my sister, so she didn’t have to as a new mom. Which was fun to surprise her with.
Next, Laura Lee found these blocks at a thrift store and knew she couldn’t pass them up. She sewed them together and is giving it to her son. If you know the pattern name, please let me know and I’ll share that here.
I used a golden A&E Perma core thread, and I think that Laura provided the batting…which was an 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Close ups on the details.
I used my Squared©️ design to quilt it, and I love the texture it created on these blocks. Squared is available in my shop.
It’s so fun for me to see the designs that I create on quilts!!
Next, this lovely quilt made by Barbara. It’s called Pumpkins and Cream by Fig Tree Quilts.
The pictures definitely don’t do this beautiful quilt justice!
I used Grapevine by Denise Schillinger, and it’s available at Urban Elementz. It’s one of my favorite leaf designs.
I used a cream Omni thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
When it comes to picking quilting designs, I like to pick a design that goes with the theme of the quilt but not the exact same thing. For instance, leaves go great with fall and pumpkins. A pumpkin design would be great, too, but for me that’s just too matchy matchy. I like the design to complement not compete.
This incredible quilt was made by Joleen. It’s called Nearly Insane by Liz Lois. The border is from another quilt called Home Sweet Home.
I wish I got better pictures of this quilt, it’s incredible!!
I love the curves in the sashing which frame each of the blocks nicely. I used a cream thread on most of the quilt and a red thread on the inner border and scallops. I used Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
I quilted a 3/4” cross hatch on point in the border, and feathers in the scallops on the border.
Like I mentioned with Susan’s quilt above, I tried to highlight each block with some light custom quilting as requested by Joleen.
So many fun details on this one!
Next up, a fun baby quilt made by Julie.
This is a panel with some borders sewn on.
I used our Arrowhead©️ design to quilt it. It’s available at Urban Elementz.
I also bound this one for Julie. I used a white Omni thread and she provided a lofty polyester batting.
Next, another panel quilt this one was made by Wendy.
It’s fun to add some quilty texture to these cute panels.
We decided on Patricia Ritter and my Merriment©️ design for the quilting. It’s available at Urban Elementz.
Next, this fun dimensional quilt was made by Laura Lee. Laura Lee design it herself, and it’s called 3D Bow Tie. The center on point squares are dimensional.
She wanted it light custom quilted because the back is minky. So I used my favorite 8” Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple to quilt all the lines in the blocks and sashing. Then I quilted feathers in the borders.
I used a cream thread and an 8020 batting.
Here is a closeup look at the blocks and sashing.
…and the borders.
A look at the borders on the minky backing…
Also, a look at the quilting of the blocks on the minky backing.
Next, this quilt is a treasure!! Debbie’s mother hand embroidered each of these blocks and then sashed them with her drapery fabric. Debbie definitely understands the work that goes into a quilt like this, and will treasure it forever!!
It’s just sooo lovely!
I love when the quilting designs that I do in sashing turn out this good!! It frames the blocks so nicely. I used one of my Circle2™ machine quilting circle rulers for the curves…I think the 7” or 8”. I match the circle rulers to specific sizes on the quilts. That’s why it’s great to have the full set. My Circle2™ rulers are only available in my shop.
I used a cream thread and Winline’s cotton poly blend batting.
Debbie’s mom marked some echoed lines around the embroidery, so I tried to quilt right on top of her lines. Then I quilted feathers and ribbon candy in the borders.
Lastly, my mom made this sweet baby quilt for one of my cousins. She used the 24” Swoon block by Thimble Blossoms and then added some borders. I think the inside border is cut at 2.5”, the thin colored border cut at 1”, and the outer border cut at 5.5”. Make sure that is correct if you make one, so that it works for adequate fabric for the backing…because you can just use the width of the fabric and not have to piece the backing.
She used some of Bonnie and Camille’s fabrics, too!
I used New Moon Loops by Wasatch Quilting. It came on my Gammill Statler machine as a free design. I like to offset it at 50%.
Look how sweet those Bonnie and Camille fabrics are together!! My mom used fabrics from Sisters and Quilters online fabric shop.
I used a light cream thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Here is a look at my Circle2™ machine quilting circle rulers.
- Design Patent D875,574 -
Above is the green set and below is the clear set. The green set makes it easier to see the lines on the rulers when quilting on lighter fabrics. Otherwise, they are the exact same.
There are 6 rulers in the set, with 2 sizes of circles per ruler you get 12 different sizes. Ranging in size from 2” up to 13”. They are only available in my shop at https://www.quiltingit.com/shop?category=Rulers
Above is a look at the 3”/9” clear ruler. For more info on the Circle2™ ruler set, go to this post: https://www.quiltingit.com/blog/2018/10/10/introducing-my-circle2-longarm-circle-ruler-set
There are also measurements for your convenience along the straight edge of the rulers.
To see more quilting using these rulers, check out the pictures in the ruler listing: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop/circle2-longarm-ruler-set-green-acrylic
Thank you for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the quilts that I’ve quilted lately. Happy quilting!!!

• New Quilting Designs •
Hello Quilting Friends!
It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. I’ve been quilting, and have a bunch of fun quilts to share with you, but first I have some new fun quilting designs. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you may have seen them. I had some requests for designs, and then I kept going and came up with a few more. Patricia Ritter and I also have a fun new design as well.
This first new design was a request from another quilter. She was looking for a fun peppermint candy design, we decided to name it Sugar Baby©️ and it’s available at Urban Elementz. It would be fun to use on a Halloween quilt or even a Valentines quilt…did you notice the little hearts in the sides of the wrapper. I think it turned out extra sweet!!
The rest of these designs are my new designs. They are all available in my shop and in the Gammill Pattern Cloud.
This first one is called Flight©️! I’ve been wanting to do a masculine airplane design that wasn’t too little boyish for awhile, and I love how it turned out!! I’m so excited to use this one on a quilt! The picture above shows the design manually offset. It’s not offset at 50% like some of my other designs. When I do a manual offset during quilting setup, I select every other row and move them all together. The picture below shows it without the offset, which is also great!!
Next up, Grove©️!
Grove©️ can be offset at 50% like pictured above or not like pictured below. My friend already used this on a quilt, it turned out fabulous!
Here is a picture of the quilt that my friend Molly from Sunny Stitches quilted, using Grove©️.
Next, Wicker©️!! So excited about this one…also a design I’ve wanted to digitize for awhile. This design needs to nest well and may require extra attention. If it doesn’t touch, as pictured, the design won’t be complete. The each row fills in a spot for the row above it, this helps with less stitching over already quilted lines. Also, it’s my experience that using Repeat Pattern mode instead of Edge to Edge mode…for the Gammill Statler, is so much better for getting designs to line up accurately. If you don’t have a Gammill, hopefully you have similar options to the one I’ve mentioned. Also, just a reminder of what I do to get designs to line up better…check out this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/T1i1zOROKp0
* Also, it’s important to note that quilts shrink as they are quilted, especially when using a lofty batting. If you use any design with rows that touch, plan to give it extra attention.
Next, this is Gem©️! This was another request from a longarm quilter. She’s already purchased Gem, XOXO, and Wicker…so excited to see which quilts she puts them on. This is going to be similar to my Sweet Orange Peel©️ design, as far as it lining up. Once again…Repeat Pattern mode has made that so slick and exact for me. I’ll share more details on how I set up designs in Repeat Pattern mode soon.
I also have this cute XOXO©️ design, which was also a request. It too, will stitch out like Sweet Orange Peel©️ and Gem©️, as far as it lining up from row to row.
Next up, Spinner©️!! Loving this one! It’s offset at 50% to get the desired layout as pictured.
This is Skipper©️, also offset at 50%. If your machine software doesn’t allow you to easily offset a design at 50% with the click of a button, I would suggest selecting every other row and dragging them until you get the desired offset.
Next, Kapari©️! I think the name fits it perfectly. No offset required for this one. I always adjust the spacing so it nests well, as pictured.
This is Chip©️! Does it look like a chip to you, too…haha! Funny name, but the texture of this design is fabulous. It’s actually a windmill shape, but when you get the design to touch it turns into a completely different design.
Last new design is Southwest©️. It reminds me of an arrow and a chevron, all in one design. The spacing between the rows adds the right amount of negative space to add more dimension to the design.
Urban Elementz is offering four of my newest designs. The first one is Wicker©️ and it’s available in all the digital formats.
Also, XOXO©️ and it’s available in all the digital formats.
Gem©️ and it’s available in all the digital formats.
Finally, Kapari©️ and it’s available in paper as well as all the digital formats.
Thank you so much for being here!! If you use my designs, tag me over on Instagram @leishakaye and I’d love to share pictures of the quilts you use them on, giving you credit for quilting. Thank you!! Happy Quilting….

Client Quilts • Summer 2020
Hello Quilting Friends…hope you’re each doing well! I have some fun quilts to share with you. I know some of you may just be looking for custom quilting ideas, but I definitely think there is room for computerized quilting. I hope you enjoy the variety of both on these amazing quilts.
First up…this cool star quilt is for Shelley’s new grandson! She found the pattern in Modern Patchwork’s Sept/Oct 2018 magazine issue. It’s by Krystina Hopkins and is called Star Shadows. Love it sooo much!! Here is a link to the magazine: https://www.quiltingdaily.com/product/modern-patchwork-september-october-2018-digital-edition/
I used cream thread and a Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
I love the fabric choices!!
Shelley requested my On Point©️ quilting design for the quilting. Which is pictured below. However, you may notice that the squares are diamonds. On my Gammill Statler there is an easy way to change that by unchecking “Maintain Aspect” option as shown on this YouTube video I recently recorded. https://youtu.be/A-mAo2Uqf6s
I just love the diamond texture!!!
Next up, another baby quilt that Shelley made. These are just large half square triangles sewn together.
Shelley chose orange peel for the quilting. This particular design is my Marci Gore and is available here: https://www.lilystreetpatterns.com/lilystreet/item/19/1
Lining up digital designs that are supposed to touch, can be tricky sometimes. There are so many factors…. here are a few tips on how I do it. https://youtu.be/T1i1zOROKp0
I used cream thread and winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Next up, this amazing patriotic quilt was made by Kim. The pattern is by Chelsi Stratton and is called All American. Go here to get a pattern: https://www.etsy.com/listing/702596624/all-american-pdf-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_7&bes=1
The perfect quilt to use a variety of your favorite red, white (or cream), and blue fabrics!
I used a cream thread, and some warm and natural batting that Kim brought.
I suggested a few designs, and Kim chose our Liberty©️ quilting design. This design comes in paper and digital quilting formats at Urban Elementz. The paper versions designs of the this design and all the designs at Urban Elementz are 25% off now until Sunday July 26th. https://www.urbanelementz.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=Liberty
Liberty©️ is a patriotic take on our Marmalade design.
Such fun quilting texture.
One more…
This one is extra special to me!! I made this for my new nephew, who is coming in the next month. We are sooo excited!
My sister loves Lo & Behold Stitchery’s quilt patterns. So much so, this is the 3 quilt she’s requested. This one is called Homecoming and is available here: https://www.loandbeholdstitchery.com/collections/digital-patterns/products/homecoming
I made the throw size, in hopes he can put it on his toddler bed someday. It really such a fun quick quilt to make!! My sister wanted solids, but loved the version that Kate from Kate’s Makes and Creates, that she saw on Instagram. Here is a link to her profile: https://instagram.com/katesmakesandcreates?igshid=1qatt3iwwjp6n • I used a denim colored woven background, with cream and rust solids for the stripes.
I used a cream thread, and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline.
You can see the fun design on the backing, pictured below.
I also loved it when I can add one of my “handmade by Leisha Kaye” tags. I had them made by Custom Labels 4 U. https://instagram.com/customlabels4u?igshid=1vkq4k2ovpdf1
Next up…this incredible quilt was made by Sherry. It’s called Granny’s Garden by a Lori Holt, and she did it as a sew along. Lori teaches a technique, so that the edges aren’t raw and fraying.
So many fun beautiful flowers.
I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting and a cream thread.
I quilted my freehand overlapping circle design in the background, and the quilted something in each flower. I did quilt around each flower so that the circles would pop even more, especially because I didn’t quilt anything in the circles. Less is perfect sometimes, and I LOVE how this quilt turned out.
Here is a video of me quilting the freehand overlapping circles on a different quilt. https://youtu.be/x0UNyEJdm9Y
Such a beautiful quilt!!!
Some close ups!
For the outside border I did a two stripe pin stripe, that matched up with the scallops. In the scallop border I added a little loop in the center of each scallop.
Next up, this amazing Poinsettia quilt made by Deana! It’s called, A Poinsettia Winter Quilt by Jason Yenter. The fabric line is by In the Beginning Fabrics.
I used Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting and a cream A&E 30 tex thread.
I did lots of ruler work, and some freehand quilting. I quilted a pinstripe starting in the garland out to the edge, and a feather swirl between that and the quilt blocks. I used Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. https://thequiltedpineapple.bigcartel.com/
I used six of my twelve Circle2™ rulers. 3”, 4”, 5”, 6”, 7”, and 11”. I designed a set of machine quilting circle rulers that have 2 circles per ruler, hence the Circle2™ (circle squared) name. The circles range in size from 2”-13”. They are made from high quality acrylic, and come in green and clear. They are available in my shop. https://www.quiltingit.com/shop
Here is the set stack on top on one another. (In green) Below is the 5”/11” ruler. I designed them with the 1/4” hopping foot in mind, so your circles will be the correct size when you use them.
- Design Patent D875,574 -
Here is a side view of the clear set, showing the measurements along the edge. These are made in the USA. Here is a video of me using one on a easy runner. https://youtu.be/GWyDTymyzoE
I used the 6” and 7” rulers in the block below.
I used the 3”, 4”, and 5” rulers in the block below.
The block below is one of my favorites…of the quilting I did on this quilt.
A close up on the quilting in the flying geese block…a swirl with a couple of hooks.
I think I used the 4” ruler around the block, and then one of Linda’s Edge rulers to quilt the zig zag.
I used the 7” and 11” rulers for the curves between the blocks. As pictured below. It’s so nice to have such a versatile circle ruler set. They are available only in my shop: https://www.quiltingit.com/shop
I also did a freehand circle and swirl in the inner border. That’s such a fun thing to quilt in a border.
I just love how all the quilting harmonizes with one another!!
A look at part of the backing.
Along the border…this is when backings are just as great as the front.
Next, this fun flannel quilt that Kim made. It’s called Disappearing Nine Patch by Missouri Star Quilt Co. https://youtu.be/dEjZOXxPazg
I used a variegated thread with all these colors in it, and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
I gave Kim a few suggestions, and she chose Soho by Sarah Ann Myers, it’s such a great design. It’s available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/?acc=12
Next up, some sweet simple table runners made by Joyce. No pattern. Just a piece of fabric for the center with borders.
I used Hexies by Patricia Ritter, available at Urban Elementz. Go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/?acc=12
I used a cream A&E 30 tex Perma Core thread and winline’s cotton poly blend batting.
Next…Sherry’s son in law requested this quilt, it’s called Legendary by Elizabeth Hartman. It’s available here: https://ohfransson.bigcartel.com/product/legendary-pdf-quilt-pattern
I used a cream A&E Perma Core thread and winline’s cotton poly blend batting.
I love that Sherry used a brown pin dot for the background.
Isn’t that quilting texture amazing!!!!!! I’m a little biased though…
I used Patricia Ritter and my Birchwood©️ design to quilt it. The backing is Minky, and it has to be pinned onto the canvases on the cut ends, so the design is running vertically, and I love it!! It’s available at Urban Elementz and the paper version is 25% off until the 26th of July. It can be found here: https://www.urbanelementz.com/birchwood.html
I’d like to think this design is like a wood grain leaf. It has great movement!! It’s one of my favorites!!!
Look at that minky texture? This is actually olive green minky, but pictures make it look gray.
Love love love!!!
Lastly, this sweet little pillow front. Sherry got it in a kit. She didn’t tell me the pattern, sorry!!
I used one of the Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple, to quilt the pinstriped border and the 1/2” on point grid in the background. There is that circle and swirl border again.
I used cream and red thread from A&E, in their respective places, and a scrap of batting leftover from the Legendary quilt.
Lots of pictures!! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the quilts and such, that I’ve been quilting.
If you’re a longarm quilter, and use paper pantographs or paper quilting designs, don’t forget about the 25% off sale going on at Urban Elementz. Here is a link that will take you to all my designs: https://www.urbanelementz.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=Leisha+Farnsworth+
Spring 2020 Client Quilts!
Hello there, I hope you’re well! Sending love to you all. The past few months have been hard for so many, and I hope this brings a little joy into your life.
I’m sorry that many of these pictures aren’t the best, I do hope you can still see the quilting.
This first quilt I shared as I quilted it, on Instagram. Made by Sherry. This is a fun one!!! Pattern is by Sew Kind of Wonderful and is called Cool Cars. Sherry loved the quilting that Jenny from Sew Kind of Wonderful did, so that’s what I used for inspiration.
I used Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple, to quilt all the straight lines.
For this I wanted a variety of textures, because I was quilting so many lines. The diamonds are 2” wide, with a diamond in the center and a back & forth freehand line with curved ends in the background to make the diamonds pop. I then quilted a vertical 1/2” line in all the cars. A woven 1/4” line design in all the car windows. And, to finish it off the horizontal lines behind the cars with ribbon candy quilted in some of those rows.
I used a light cream thread from A&E, and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Next, this fun leaf quilt was made by Terri. The quilt was a kit with the most beautiful fun fabrics, and is called Leafy by Elizabeth Hartman.
I used a darker cream 30 tex A&E Perma Core thread and Winline’s 8020 to quilt it. I also quilt on a Gammill 22” machine, with the Statler option. I used the Statler to quilt this quilt.
She wanted something quilted tightly or close together.
So, we went with Patricia Ritter and my Kindling design, which is available at Urban Elementz.
Which I think adds just the right amount of texture!!!
Next up, a quilt made by Monica from @sewnbylovey and it’s such a fun quilt!!
This pattern is from Moda and is called Compass. I couldn’t find a link to the pattern, sorry!!
I used a white thread and the batting that Monica provided…if I remember right.
We talked about different designs, and decided on Good Vibrations by Patricia Ritter from Urban Elementz.
Next, a quilt that Abby from @orangepeelsews made for a friends daughter who just graduated from our high school.
She did a mix of t-shirts and fabric, and it’s one of my favorite t-shirt quilts that I’ve quilted.
I used a white thread and Winline’s 8020 batting.
We decided on Patricia Ritter and my Tahitian Pearl design, which is available at Urban Elementz. It’s such a fun and versatile design.
Close ups…
Abby offers custom quilts through her Etsy shop sometimes. https://www.etsy.com/shop/orangepeel/
Next, this lovely quilt was made by Shelley! She said the pattern was an old one, that she couldn’t find. Sorry!!
This one is all about the texture, and I wish the pictures showed the fun fabrics she used better!
I did all the quilting freemotion.
I used an Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple to do all the borders. I quilted the lines 3/4” apart, and I love how this design just fills up the border so nicely.
I used a tan thread from Superior Threads, if I remember right, and an 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline.
Here is a close up on the block. I quilted ribbon candy in the spokes, also circles and a 1/2” square grid on point. All without stopping, which makes it sooo much faster. That also includes the pebbles in the background.
Speaking of pebbles…introducing River Rocks, Patricia Ritter and my newest quilting design. It’s available at Urban Elementz. It’s so fun for me to take one of my freehand designs, and make it into a quilting design.
Also, I’m not quite sure if I mentioned this newer design. It’s called Scottish Plaid Hexies and is also available at Urban Elementz.
Next, this amazing quilt that Sherry made! It’s called Vintage Housewife, and was a sew along that Lori Holt did. I wish I got better pictures of this one, so sorry!!
I quilted this quilt freemotion, freehand and with rulers.
I really just wanted a lot of different textures, and I love how it turned out! Pebbles, swirly feathers, arcs, loops, ribbon candy, overlapping circles, stippling, crackle, grassy texture, and so many different lines!!!
I love the apron the most!! For some videos of this quilt…check out this link to my Instagram. There are two more videos posted right before this one, but it didn’t give me a link for them. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_yRn5SHaYF/?igshid=m1vwygytcrq1
I used a cream thread and winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
To see the details better, click on the pictures. I used Linda from The Quilted Pineapple Edge rulers for all the straight lines.
This is such a fun quilt!!!
Next, a simple baby quilt made by Diane.
She asked for a square quilting design, and I thought my Double Squared©️ would be perfect. It’s available in my shop, at Urban Elementz, or in the Gammill Pattern Cloud.
When I set up a design to stitch out, it’s important for me to get the spacing between the rows to be the same as the spacing in the design.
I used a cream thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Next, Kate made a couple of these table runners for her girls, using the Witches Night Out pattern by Its Sew Emma.
I used cream thread and Winline’s 8020 batting.
We decided on Haunted Web by Apricot Moon Designs, it’s available at Urban Elementz.
Kate also made the quilt!!
We used the same Haunted Web design for the quilting.
I used the same cream thread and 8020 batting from Winline.
Kate added a thin orange border, which is such a beautiful addition.
I love the texture on this quilt!!
Next, a quilt that Shelley made.
Strips cut and sewn at different thicknesses and then set on the bias, with sashing in between.
Shelley requested my Hopscotch©️ quilting design for the quilting. Such a fun texture!! It’s available in my shop, at Urban Elementz, or in the Gammill Store.
I used a white thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Here are a few close ups!
Here is a look at the comfy minky backing!!
Next, another quilt made by Shelley. These circles are appliquéd on and stitched onto the square. She always chooses such fun fabrics for her circle quilts.
I used a darker cream thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Shelley requested my On Point©️, which comes as a square on point. But I asked how she’d feel if I made it a diamond shape instead. She was all for it. On the Statler that I quilt with, there is an option in the size (height/width) box called “Maintain Aspect” it should be checked normally. So, when you change the height of a design, the width stays in the right proportion. If you uncheck that option, you can then slightly change the size or stretch the design. That what I did here to get the squares to be diamond shape. It’s a easy fix!! If you don’t use a Gammill, you may have a similar option on your machine.
Another note about this design, if you offset it at 50% you can stitch it out without any double stitching or lines quilted over other quilted lines. I share how I offset designs in this video, using my Gammill Statler in CS7. https://youtu.be/tncw2-nQUpY
This design is also available in the Pattern Cloud at Gammill and at Urban Elementz.
This is such a fun quilt, and I think the quilting is a perfect fit for it.
Here is the minky backing!
Next up, this amazing cuckoo clock quilt made by Sherry! The pattern is Cuckoo by Elizabeth Hartman.
This is such a incredible quilt!! Pictures definitely don’t do it justice.
I used Hexies by Patricia Ritter to quilt it. It was the perfect texture for these clocks. It’s available at Urban Elementz.
A couple of my favorite blocks.
I used a cream thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly batting.
Next is a quilt made by Loranne. She has her first grand baby on the way.
She fussy cut the fabrics and then I think she put a 2.5” strip around them. So cute!!!
We decided on Mod Dots from Patricia Ritter available at Urban Elementz, for the quilting. Because of a vertical seam in the backing, I pinned the quilt on sideways…otherwise it can throw off the spacing on when the machine is quilting, so that’s why the design is running vertically on the quilt.
I used a tan thread and Winline’s 8020 cotton poly blend batting.
Such a fun quilt, enjoy snuggling your new little one, Loranne!
Lastly, this beautiful quilt that Laura Lee made for her mother’s 90th birthday. Pattern is by Needles in a Hayes Stack. It was a block of the month from Missouri Star Quilt Co.
I used a cream thread everywhere except for the dark purple borders, I used purple on those. I used a king size 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline.
I did some computerized quilting on all the star blocks and snowball blocks, everything else I quilted free motion or freehand.
The block pictured above is called scf-196 Twirl Block v2 and the tulip design below is JK Fanciful Fluer block 6, which are both free designs that came on my Gammill Statler. I’m not sure the designers. This is all the information I could see.
I wanted to highlight the center section with a variety of textures in the borders. Lines and ribbon candy for the win!
More pictured below.
I used my 13” Circle2 machine quilting circle ruler to quilt the curves in the yellow border, which are available in my shop in a set of 6 rulers. You get 12 sizes of circles, ranging from 2”-13”. - Circle2 Design Patent D875,574 -
Then I quilted circles in the purple border and swirly feathers in the outside border.
I love the mix of quilting textures. Simple individually but beautiful all together.
Thanks for stopping by!! More fun quilts to come. Take care and happy quilting!!
