Sherry’s Starry Night Quilt

This amazing quilt was made by Sherry!! The pattern is called Starry Night by Sew Kind of Wonderful.

Pictures just don’t do this quilt justice. Because it was hard to fit the full quilt in a picture, I captured parts of each section, also hoping that you’ll be able to see the details a little better.

Here is Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.

The three wiseman.

A camel and a shepherd.

Sherry want it quilted similar to how Jenny Pedigo quilted their Starry Night quilt. I quilted my overlapping circles freehand, in the background. Then I used the Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. The lines varied throughout the quilt, from horizontal to vertical to curved, which added to the textures.

Donkey and another shepherd.

I used a light cream thread and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting.

I also added some fun little details here and there, as shown here on the angel.

I also used one of my Circle2 machine quilting circle rulers to enhance some of the curves by quilting a quarter of an inch and then adding the rest of the lines. If you look back at all the individual pictures, you can see where I’ve done that.

One last look at the quilt!!

I think I used the 6” or 7” Circle2 ruler for the curves. My Circle2 rulers come in a set of 6 on my website. They range in size from 2”-13”. They come in clear as pictured above, and green as pictured below. Made in America from 1/4” high quality acrylic.

Hope you loved this quilt, too!!! Have a great day! - Leisha
