Kim’s Life’s a Picnic Runner
Hello!!
I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m going to try and post more quilts this week, there are some fun ones that have come my way for quilting.
This fun little table runner was made by Kim, I love the bright pops of color!! The pattern is by Lissa Alexander and it’s a bonus pattern called Life’s a Picnic from her “Oh, Scrap!” book.
I used a scrap piece of 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I thought it would be fun to quilt freehand swirls in the center of the blocks, and it turned out so sweet!! Also, ribbon candy in the outer border.
In the background I thought a simple orange peel petals would frame nicely around the swirl blocks. Which I was able to do continuously by stitching in the ditch.
I used my 4” Circle2™ machine quilting circle ruler to quilt the petals. My 4” Circle2™ ruler is one of my most used circle rulers for quilting orange peel petals. It fits a variety of different shapes nicely. If it’s not quite the right size, I size up or down…that’s why I offer my Circle2™ rulers in a set.
