Kim’s Spring Table Runner

Does anyone else feel like spring is coming??? Hopefully this sweet little wall hanging helps!! The pattern is by Pieceful Designs and it’s called Love to Garden, part of their “The Long and Short of it” group.

Sweet huh?!?!

I used a 8020 cotton poly batting scrap from another quilt, and some cream Omni thread color number 3004.

What better freehand design for this garden wall hanging than my grassy design???…I love it!! It reminds me of tall grass blowing in a breeze. It’s actually funny to me to describe freehand quilting designs to someone, I guess it just better to show you. What would you name it? Would you be interested in a video of how I freehand quilt this grassy design?

To enhance the 1/2” pink dotted border, I thought some freehand circles would be fun. Like a string of pearls. To finish off the outer border, a little ribbon candy. I kept the quilting in the flowers simple, and then had fun adding some details to the watering can. I think quilting appliqué can be fun…unless there is too many layers of heavy weight interfacing. Light weight interfacing is preferred and can adequately fuse all your layers together. I really love Flexi Fuse!! I love quilting appliquéd quilts that use it for the interfacing. It’s easy to quilt through all the many layers!

Thanks for coming on by, I hope that life is going well for you!! Take care. • Leisha
