Kathy’s Legendary Quilt

Hello,
I hope you’re week has been great! Happy almost spring to some of you…and fall the the rest.

This fun quilt my friend Kathy made for her son. He wanted different texture on the quilting than what I typically do…wood grain. So…I showed her Malachite by Patricia Ritter, and she loved the idea. I think it turned out great!

The quilt pattern is by Elizabeth Hartman and is called Legendary.

I know some of you are here to see quilts that are custom quilted, I understand that. However, there is definitely a place for edge to edge quilting. With a quilt like this one, that I’ve quilted a few of…and seen many others, it’s great to get a look at a different design on such a popular quilt. Also, I want to share my clients beautiful quilts.

I used my favorite Winline 8020 batting, and superior threads cream Omni thread.

Look at that cozy backing!! It’s a flannel sheet. When someone wants to use a sheet or a flannel backing, I suggest using a flannel sheet. They quilt up beautifully. I think Kathy found this at Eddie Bauer.

I quilted this last fall…and I have oodles of more quilts to share with you! Stay tuned. Happy Quilting! -Leisha
