Jennie Jo’s Family Heirloom Quilt
Hi there,
it’s me again! I’m going to try and catch up on sharing quilts…so then I can share quilts in real time. It can be hard to find the time to blog, especially when I used to do multiple quilts in one post.
This fun heirloom quilt is all about the fabric!! One of Jennie Jo’s sons loved this drapery fabric from his grandma, so she had a quilt made out of it. A friend of Jennie’s zig zagged the round edges to the green fabric, and then also added the brown border.
You may be also to see how it’s sewn better in this picture.
I suggested a few different designs, and she chose Patricia Ritter and my Haven©️ design! It’s such a fun vine design. It’s available at Urban Elementz.
I think it looks beautiful with the print in the fabric, without being too matchy matchy.
I used a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend Winline batting.
Have you ever made a quilt with a family heirloom fabric?
Have a great week, and I hope that you get some sewing in!
