Stephanie’s Pirate Tales Quilt
Hi there,
I’m excited to share with you this amazing quilt that Stephanie made!! I think she told me it is paper pieced.
The quilt is called Pirate Tales the pattern designer is…(I’m not sure, I will edit this when I know).
The fabric is by Echo Park Paper Company from Riley Blake, and is called Pirate Tales.
Stephanie left the custom quilting up to me, she suggested something geometric. I decided on designs that would enhance the quilt pattern. I love it!!
Pictures don’t do it justice!!
I love how the quilting in all the borders frames the block so nicely.
I decided to do my favorite random angled lined design at 1/4”, using the Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. I actually used them for all the lines I quilted throughout the quilt.
In the star itself I quilted a variety of different lines that enhance the shape. I used a light cream thread on everything but the black fabrics, which I used black thread on. I also used Hobbs wool batting.
Below you can see what I just did in each of the borders. Ribbon candy, circles with a swirl in every other one, pinstripes in the black thin border, and the 4 point star in the nine patch. I love what the four corners look like together. You can see another bigger star.
Another look at the borders.
With more ribbon candy on the outer border. I love all the textures together. Quilting adds so much personality to a quilt.
It’s so rewarding to see a quilt come together and see the end result, especially when I do this much ruler work.
Hope you enjoyed Stephanie’s quilt. Lots of more fun quilts to share!! Hope you’re working on some fun projects.
