Debbie’s 30 Stars Quilt
Hello there,
I have an amazing quilt to share with you. Debbie and her mom made this beautiful 30 Stars quilt, which was designed by Mary Etherington and Connie Tesene of Country Threads for Country Living magazine. Can you see all 30 stars? The amazing thing…this is a not very big wall hanging.
Debbie cut out all the pieces, and her mom sewed it together. That’s great teamwork!
Debbie and I were in the same sewing group years ago when I started quilting. Although we don’t sew together anymore, I have fond memories of those days and being associated with women who have become so dear to me.
When I saw the log cabin blocks, I knew that I wanted to quilt some feather wreaths.
Here is a short video of me quilting the wreaths with my 3” Circle2™ ruler. I also used my 2”, 3”, and 4” Circle2™ rulers on other curves throughout the quilt. If you’ve followed my custom quilting over the years, you know that I love mixing curves and lines. It creates the most amazing texture. My favorite straight rulers are from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple.
I used a single layer of Hobbs wool, it’s a dreamy addition which adds the right amount of puff. I used a tan Omni thread from Superior Threads.
I love seeing all the textures play off of one another. What is your favorite part?

And, the backing! I sure love what I do.
Here is a look at my 3”/9” Circle2 ruler™. I have 6 rulers in my Circle2™ ruler set, and from those 6 rulers you get 12 different sizes of circles. Ranging from 2” up to 13”.
