Lisa’s Fall Breeze Quilt

Love this amazing quilt I got to quilt for Lisa at the end of last year.

The pattern is by Vanessa from V&Co and is called Fall Breeze. Go to: https://vanessachristenson.com/product/fall-breeze-ombre-quilt-pdf-pattern/

I love the chambray grey background fabric, Vanessa’s ombré fabrics shine!!!

I used Patricia Ritter and my Breeze panto design, which turned out so great!!! The leaves look like they’re swirling around in the wind. Breeze is available at Urban Elementz, go to: https://www.urbanelementz.com/breeze.html

I used a grey Omni thread from Superior Threads and bamboo batting from Winline Textiles. Their bamboo is divine!

I love the quilting texture in all of that negative space.

Lisa used a brushed flannel for the backing, and it was so cozy when it was done.

Heidi’s Simple Addition Quilt

When this beautiful quilt arrived I was in love with the colors and fabrics.

The pattern is called Simple Addition by Allison from Cluck Cluck Sew. Go here to get the PDF: https://cluckclucksewshop.com/collections/pdf-patterns/products/simple-addition-pdf-only

I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

I used Pearce by Keryn Emmerson which is available at Urban Elementz. https://www.urbanelementz.com/pearce.html It’s such a classy design, and it looks beautiful with all these fabrics.

Hopefully you can see the swirl with a hook and the circles. One of my favorites!!

Designs like these tend to soften all the hard lines in the quilt pattern, too.

If you’re looking for a great plus quilt, this is a great one!!

Thanks for being apart of my quilty journey!! If you’re interested in having me quilt for you, check out my calendar and schedule a day or two. https://calendly.com/quiltingit

Maria’s Into The Deep Quilt

If you follow me on instagram @leishakaye then you might have seen this incredible quilt on my machine this week!

Maria and her daughter Mary each made one, Mary’s will be quilted like Maria’s next. It’s fun to have twinning quilts!!

This is the Into The Deep pattern that was an exclusive pattern taught by Tula Pink herself on a cruise back in 2018. Unfortunately, I can’t find a pattern to link. Of course these are Tula’s gorgeous fabrics as well.

When I was brainstorming how to quilt Maria and Mary’s quilts, I had the thought to add some Graffiti style quilting between the squares. Which I think goes perfectly with Tula’s fabrics. Glad they were game!!

I used Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly Winline Textiles batting.

These are close ups of some of my favorite elements. Graffiti Quilting allows me to make stuff up as I go. Below I love the long skinny hooked leaf with the scalloped inside. Above, the simple leaf with the circles feather tip. There are many other fun elements just like these throughout the quilt. Check out my instagram for a video I posted of this quilt.

In the squares I quilted a simple x and then echoed the lines 1” outside the center x. I used the 12” Edge ruler from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. Go to: https://www.thequiltedpineapple.com/shop/

If you’re a quilter, have you ever tried Graffiti Quilting? Do you want to?

Karlee Porter who is the mastermind behind Graffiti Quilting is teaching her 10th Anniversary Master Class this fall, and she’s given me a coupon code for you to join us!!! Yes, I’m taking the class too. Use code “LF25” at checkout to get $25 off. March is early bird pricing, each month it will go up until September 2024 when class starts. Go to: https://www.karleeporter.com/shop/education/graffiti-quilting-master-class/

I’m so excited to learn everything I can about Graffiti Quilting. Plus Karlee is so fun, you know it’s going to be a good time.

If you’re intimidated with Graffiti Quilting, I have a Quilting It Freemotion course that can get you started with the basics!!! Go to: https://www.quiltingit.com/quilting-it-freemotion-course

It’s ready now!!! Let me know if you have any questions.

Amanda’s Patchwork Duffle Bag

Last year for my sister’s birthday I made her a duffle bag. I let her pick the fabrics, and I love how it turned out. She loves it, too!

I used the Patchwork Duffle pattern by my friend Kait from Knot + Thread. I’ve made this a few times, it’s a great pattern!!! Here is the bag I made for a friend and here is my bag. Have you made one yet?

I used soft and stable, which is a glorious 1/4”ish thick foam that adds a pop of dimension and perfect thickness to the bag. Kait has it available at Knot + Thread. Soft and Stable is so easy to quilt and sew through.

I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.

I gave my sister a few options for quilting designs and she chose Domestic Stitches - Triangles, which is one of several designs I sell in my shop that have a fun geometric style, similar to some designs quilted on a domestic machine. Doing those kind of designs can be difficult on a longarm.

The lining is a fun fabric by Gingiber from her Words to Live By line from Moda. The floral is Lady Bird by Crystal Manning from Moda as well as the Bella solid we used for the handles.

I had enough left over to make her a zipper pouch, too!

My sister is often spending the weekend away, and why not have this adorable bag to take her things in. Her little boy was so excited when I gave it to her, he was packing blankets and toys in it from my parents house.

My handmade tags are woven and wonderful quality. I use them on other bags and my quilts. I got them from Custom Labels 4 U. I love them!!!

If love to quilt for you!! Check out my edge to edge quilting calendar and schedule a day. Happy quilting!! Leisha

Laurie’s Scrap Baby Quilts

I feel like spring is just around the corner, and these bright and darling baby quilts are definitely helping!!

Yes, there are two baby quilts quilted on the same minky quilt backing. Not only is it a huge time saver to do it this way, it’s also cost effective. I quilted one, rolled and then quilted the next.

Laurie made these for a set of twins in her son in-laws family!! Lucky them!

She used leftover fabric scraps from other quilts and cut them in the same width. The height of rectangle pieces varies, which makes this an easy quilt to make. Add some strips between the rows and a border, and you’ve got a darling quilt.

I used Triplet by Ambling Vines which is available at Ma Tante Quilting. If you’re a longarm quilter and you don’t already have Triplet, I highly recommend that you buy it. It’s beautiful on a variety of different quilts and quilts out perfectly. It’s never disappoints.

Look at that adorable Triplet quilty texture!! Love it!!

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads.

If you’re interested in getting something quilted, I’d love to help you with that. Check out my calendar and schedule a day.

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy quilting! • Leisha

Marilyn’s Jane Austen Barton Cottage Quilt

Debbie’s mom Marilyn has been making some amazing quilts, and here is another one.

The pattern is called the Jane Austen Barton Cottage quilt by the Riley Blake Designers. I couldn’t find just the pattern but several stores are currently carrying the kit. If you’re interested search the name.

I used the cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

I used Rolling Hills by Julie Hirt to quilt it. Such a great design!!! Especially on this house quilt.

These Jane Austen fabrics by Riley Blake are beautiful, and the house reminds me so much of the movies I love to watch over and over again.

Look at that beautiful quilty texture!!!

Loving this darling quilt that has me dreaming of springtime.

Barbara made this Shortcake quilt, by Cluck Cluck Sew using Farmers Daughter fabrics by Vanessa at Lella Boutique. This pattern and fabric is a match made in heaven.

I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

Recently I found this darling quilting design that came free on my Gammill Statler called Rose Vine by Norma Sharp, which is a perfect fit for this quilt. The flowers and leaves in the quilting design look like they came directly from the fabric.

Lovely texture, which helps soften all the hard lines in the quilt pattern!!

Some close ups…

Laurie’s Yellow Brick Road Quilt

Laurie helped a friend make this fun quilt for her granddaughter, so cute huh?!?!

The pattern is the classic Yellow Brick Road by Atkinson Designs. I’ve made a few quilts with this pattern. It’s fast and fun!

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.

The panto is called Dear Heart by Hermione Agee and is available at Urban Elementz. It’s a fun simple design that creates beautiful texture.

What is your favorite heart panto? Cupid is one of mine!! I’m actually going to use it on the first quilt I quilt this year.

A couple of close ups…

A minky swirl with all that quilty texture, is my favorite!

Angie’s Baby Cuddles Quilts

Angie has a great go to baby pattern, pick some of your favorite fabrics and get yourself a copy of Baby Cuddle by Fresh Dew Drops. I’m going to share four baby quilts she made and a queen sized of the same quilt. Fresh Dew Drops has a regular pattern with larger sizes as well it’s called Simply Done Quilt.

What I love about a pattern like this one is it’s all about the cute fabrics, and it’s super fast.

I quilted this one using a free panto design available on my Gammill Statler called Rose Vine by Norma Sharp. It quilts out beautifully!

I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting by Winline Textiles.

This is a gender neutral one because the parents were waiting until they have their baby to find out. I love the pops of color and fun prints.

We went with a gender neutral panto design, too. This is also a free one on my Gammill Statler called Geometric Border. The designer isn’t listed. I love the fun texture this design creates.

I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads, it blends so well. I also used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

See that texture on the minky, sooo good!

Love this sweet version!

I used the same 8020 cotton poly blend batting and a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.

I used Patricia Ritter and my Sweet Indigo panto design to quilt it, which is available at Urban Elementz.

How sweet is the quilting on this quilt?!?!

Next up, this sweet apple print.

We originally talked about putting a flower on this one, and I then I thought Sprig would be an excellent choice. It’s by Abling Vines and is available at www.matantequilting.com

This is a favorite of mine. It stitches out beautifully and creates lovely texture.

I used my favorite natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

Check out that quilty texture!!

Here is the queen sized version that Angie made for her daughter who loves Halloween.

You can probably guess I used natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads, which blends so great on even those black fabrics. I also used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

I used the Haunted Web panto by Apricot Moon Designs to quilt it. It’s available at Urban Elementz.

Thanks for being here!!

If you’d like to have a quilt quilted check out my calendar and schedule a day or two.

LeAnn’s Rose Garden Runner

I have a darling table runner to share with you today!!

LeAnn made this Rose Garden Runner from a kit available at My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe. The pattern and Market Street fabrics are both by Heather Peterson from Anika’s Treasures.

I was going to quilt it with yellow thread, but didn’t love it, so I swapped it for a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads. I also used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

I gave LeAnn a few options, and she chose my Beaded Orange Peel, which I love!! It turned out so perfect for this particular runner. Beaded Orange Peel is available in my shop.

I love how the circles within the panto design adds interest to the traditional orange peel design.

If panto designs that touch scare you. Here is a link to a video of what I do when I quilt pantos. I hope it helps.

This cheerful runner has me dreaming of spring already!! How about you?!?!

Sandy’s 4 Patch Baby Quilt

Did you have a chance to check out my new website??? Take a look around when you get a moment. Thankfully I was able to transfer my blog and most of my shop with the help of Square Websites Plugins, a company not associated with Square Space that developed a software which collects the data and downloads it. Best tool in the rebuilding process for me. In my shop a had to add digital files to each of my designs, which I was planning to do anyway. Such a smooth process. They have other resources as well. If any of you are in the same boat, give it a try!

How cute is this adorable baby quilt that my mom made for my cousin’s baby girl?!?! I can’t believe he’s old enough to be a dad, and I babysat him when he was a baby. I’m old, haha!!

My mom sewed 2.5” squares together into a four patch and cut 4.5” colored and white squares to offset as you can see.

I’ve had a bunch of 2.5” squares left over from my Hexie Flower quilt that I’m making, and my mom took them and some charm packs and made this adorable quilt. All Bonnie and Camille fabrics.

I used Flower Child from Apricot Moon Designs available at Urban Elememtz, to quilt it. Which is a perfect design for this quilt.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads.

Check out that quilted minky texture!!! Love it! I love regular solid minky. The quilting creates the perfect snuggly texture.

If you’re hoping to get some quilting done before Christmas, check out my edge to edge quilting calendar and schedule a day.

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great weekend. Leisha

Pat’s Summer Haze Quilt

Are you looking for an adorable baby quilt??? I have a sweet one to share with you today!!

Pat made this sweet Summer Haze quilt, and the pattern is by Suzy Quilts. The fabric is a line that came out October 2020 called Folktale by Vanessa at Lella Boutique. The combination of the pattern and fabrics is sooo good.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads.

I came across this super darling free panto design on my Statler called Rose Vine by Norma Sharp. If it doesn’t come free on your machine, it’s available in paper and digital format at Quilts Complete. I’ve linked the digital version above.

The quilting design softens all the hard lines, and matches the fabrics perfectly!! Pat was thrilled!!! Check out that quilty texture on the minky backing.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have fun quilting plans for the week!!

Jessica’s Dresden Quilt

Hello there,

So excited to share this stunning quilt with you!!

Jessica made this classic Dresden quilt with such fun fabrics. I love the navy background, which allows the colors in the dresdens to pop!!

Jessica wanted simple quilting, and suggested cross hatching. I typically need reference points when I cross hatch, so I decided to try my On Point panto design and do some custom computerized quilting for the background. On Point is available in my shop. I did the rest of the custom quilting with one of the Edge rulers from Linda at The Quilted Pineapple. I quilted in the ditch around the dresdens and then a half inch cross hatch in the center. Simply perfect, if you ask me.

I used Navy and Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads, and bamboo batting from Winline Textiles.

Those lines…a favorite of mine, for sure!!! If you’re interested in having me quilt for you, check out my edge to edge calendar.

Jessica is an incredible photographer, and took this beautiful picture and gave it to me to include. Click on her name to see more of her beautiful work.

Kathy’s “Who’s in My Garden” Quilt

Hello,

This incredible quilt was on my machine back in February, and with a little bit of time this afternoon I want to tell you about it.

Kathy created this design herself and called it “Who’s in My Garden”. Which, if you notice all the little creatures…you’ll see who visits her garden. There is no pattern for this. She had the center panel for awhile and possibly the floral border fabric, which she designed the whole quilt around. There are 7 pieced borders on this quilt.

The delicate floral arrangement in the center is so beautiful and classy, and I didn’t want to take away from that with the quilting so I cross hatched it with a long Edge ruler from Linda at the Quilted Pineapple.

I quilted my freehand Overlapping Circles design in the corners behind the birds. If you’re interested in having me teach you how to quilt freemotion from the comfort of your own home, check out my Quilting It Freemotion course.

Then I just kept quilting and trying to highlight each border, repeating some of the designs to create cohesion throughout the quilt.

If you’re interested…Check out the quilting details for the first couple of borders in this instagram video. I used my 4” Circle2 ruler for curves behind the outside scalloped blue border. My Circle2 rulers are available in my shop, in a set of 6 ranging from 2” up to 13”…with two circles per ruler. Check them out!!!

I share the rest of the border quilting designs in this video. I used my 5” Circle2 ruler for the petals in the flying geese blocks. More freehand Overlapping Circles and lots and lots of lines.

I used Hobbs wool batting and natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.

This quilt is amazing, and it was fun to create so much beautiful quilty texture!!

I’m still not taking on custom quilting at the moment, but if you’re interested in edge to edge quilting please check my schedule.

Thanks for stopping by!! Happy quilting. • leisha

I used the sweet panto from my dear friend Shelly’s mum shop called Sprig! I quilts out beautifully and it creates such beautiful texture.

Kathy’s Quilts

Hello there,

I have a few cute quilts to show you!! Kathy made all three of these quilts, so I’m going to share them all in this post.

First up, this fun Love, Sweet Love quilt. It’s actually a boxed kit from Riley Blake. The fabrics are by Amber Kemp-Gerstel. So cute, right?!?!

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and natural white Omni thread from Superior Threads.

Kathy picked a design off of Urban Elememtz called Alpine Grande by Patricia Ritter, which I hadn’t seen before. I love how it turned out!!

How cute is that eyelash background fabric?!!!

Another view…

This quilt is so happy…people reaching out for one another even in diversity…which we all need to do. Our differences can be celebrated and be something that brings us together.

Next up…

This quilt and the next are using the same Jenny Doan pattern that is in the Quilter’s 10” Precut Companion book. These fabrics are by Holly Taylor from her Sunflower Garden line.

I used my favorite 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles and a golden tan Omni thread from Superior Threads, that blends well with the fabrics.

Kathy requested Maureen’s Sunflowers from Urban Elememtz for the quilting design, which is another new design for me.

It’s fun to see sunflower fabrics again!! My sister and I had dresses in our early teen years that my mom made us, with almost identical sunflower fabric.

Next up…

This is the same pattern as the last quilt, just in different fabrics. These are from the Forest Fables fabric line by Paintbrush Studio Fabrics.

Kathy requested the Gummy Bears quilting design by Patricia Ritter, which is available at Urban Elememtz. Which is such a sweet design!!

I used a golden tan Omni thread from Superior Threads, and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

The bears and stars dance across the quilt!!

Another view…

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you find some time to sew soon, I sure need to.

If you’re interested in having me quilt a quilt for you, please look at my calendar. Thank you!! • leisha

Debbie’s Star Struck Quilt

Isn’t this a stunning quilt?!?!!! Debbie and her mom Marilyn have been working on several quilts lately, and this is one of them. Marilyn is in her 90’s, which has me hoping I’m sewing into my 90’s too.

This one came in a kit called Star Struck, which is no longer available. The pattern had three different layouts in it, and it’s called Floating Star by Stitch and Snip.

I used my favorite Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads…which I think blends beautifully over all the dark saturated fabrics, and 8020 cotton poly comfort blend batting from Winline Textiles.

Debbie chose Patricia Ritter and my Horizon quilting design, which added some beautiful texture!! Horizon is available at Urban Elementz. We designed this design years ago, and I’m finally using it. It stitched out beautifully!!

The variety of batik fabrics together is so stunning!!

Another view…

If you’re looking to get some of your quilts professionally machine quilted, schedule a time on my calendar. I’d love to quilt for you!!!

June’s Florence Flamingo Quilt

Have you ever seen a Florence Flamingo quilt that you didn’t love??? I haven’t.

June made this Florence Flamingo quilt, a pattern by Elizabeth Hartman, and she did a beautiful job.

The background fabric is a peachy tan color, which is perfect behind all the pops of colors.

June chose Tahitian Pearl, which is one of Patricia Ritter and my panto designs, for the quilting. Tahitian Pearl is available at Urban Elementz. I love the soft swirls and circles that dance across the quilt.

I used a cream Omni thread from Superior Threads and my favorite 8020 comfort blend batting from Winline Textiles.

Which flamingo is your favorite? Mine is probably the hot pink one in the center on the top row.

Do you have some quilts that you’d like to have quilted? Check out my schedule and sign up for a day! I’d love to quilt for you. Happy quilting!! Leisha
