When I saw that Kathy wanted wool batting on her machine quilting form, I was excited to have the custom quilting pop!! I use Hobbs wool.

Can you believe all that detail???! The inner points of the star that go around the circle are dimensional, and pop up with the combination of wool batting and quilty textures.

I love a neutral thread on quilts like this! Omni from Superior Threads is my favorite thread. It’s thick and quilts out beautifully. I wanted to highlight the blocks so I decided to quilt around each block and do a pebble with an occasional swirl in the background. I quilted a swirl with a couple of feathers in each star pieces with 1/2” cross hatched squares on point in the center of the block. For the triangle edge blocks I quilted my freehand Swirly Feather.
