Heidi’s Baby Quilt

Hi there,

I have a fun quick baby quilt idea for you…I guess it’s quick if the people you request a square from are able to get you their square.

Heidi made this cute simple patchwork quilt for her new grandson. To surprise her son and daughter in-law (hopefully I got that right, if not daughter and son in-law), she requested everyone from both families to contribute a square of fabric that represents them. Heidi added some sashing and a border to frame the squares nicely.

I used my favorite Natural White Omni thread from Superior Threads and 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline Textiles.

I suggested my Squared design, which I think is great for quilts like this with blocks or squares sitting at a 90° angle. The 45° angle of the design adds such great texture to the quilt, without competing with the quilt pattern. Squared is available in my shop.

Loving that quilty texture!!!

Such a fun variety of fabrics. This would be a great eye spy quilt.

I think she said she gave them a color scheme, just to make sure the fabrics would work together.

If you’re interested in having me quilt for you, please send me an email and I’ll get you added to my schedule. quiltingit@gmail.com

Happy quilting!! Leisha
