Linda’s Thrift Quilt

Hi There,

I can believe it’s almost already thanksgiving!! I hope your holiday season is wonderful. I’m looking forward to the fun parties and family time ahead.

I’ve never gone looking for quilts in a thrift store, if I do I hope to fine one like this one!! Linda found this beautiful vintage Grandma’s Flower Garden quilt. Lucky!! She had me quilt it just in time for her child’s wedding.

I used 8020 cotton poly blend batting from Winline, and cream Omni thread from Superior Threads.

If I remember right, because I’m behind in blogging and can’t remember…this was pieced by hand. Makes me excited to finish my hexie flower quilt. I’m sewing rows together. Then I’ll need to finish the edges.

We talked back and forth about the quilting and decided on a large version of my On Point quilting design, and I love it!! On Point is available in my shop.

I love how a design like this, which is a classic, shows off the beautiful piecing.

It’s also fun to see these beautiful vintage fabrics.

If you’re interested in having me quilt for you, email me at quiltingit@gmail.com

Thanks for stopping by! Leisha
